momstown KW Portraits in the Park Location Details

This weekend, momstown KW mamas are doing Family Portraits in the Park!  We originally had Victoria Park chosen but with Word on the Street happening this weekend, we have had to find a plan B.  And a Plan B we found!!!  Our new location is the Doon Presbyterian Church, a hidden gem.  There are many spots around the outside of the church to take photos, like the front steps, trees, stone benches, or even using the brick church as your backdrop.  As an added bonus, attached to the parking lot the Homer Watson Art Gallery with some nice outdoors spots in their backyard, and a stone wall just a 2 min walk away from the church!  (and, we have permission from the church to shoot there outside over the weekend).

Our photographer, Jen Lefler, will meet you on the grounds of the church and then you can discuss your photo spot wishes with her, keeping in mind you have just 30 mins for your time slot :)

On Thursday afternoon, Melissa and I headed to the Doon Church and the stone wall to check it out and ended up taking some photos of our kids :)   Here are some of the photos (unedited) we took as an example of the landscaping, architecture and surroundings.  Please excuse the casualness of the photos, we hadn't planned on doing a photo shoot and they were taken with my iPhone!

Doon Church
The Stone Wall

Watch a quick slideshow of some of the favourite photos at the wall in the different lights and parts of the wall.  There are more great photo spots near the wall that would make awesome pictures!

If you want to check out/use the stone wall for photos, it is located on Old Mill Drive, just at the bottom of the hill (Roos Dr) of the church.  There is a brown pole labeled "Community Trail" just by the bridge.  This is where the stone wall is, right near the begging of this trail.  The Schneider Creek runs right along it.   So, the Stone Wall is between Roos St and the bridge on Old Mill Drive.

Enjoy your portraits, I can't wait to see how they all turn out!  Have fun!!
