Splish Splash

With all this fabulous July weather we have been having, we have been sure to hit all the local pools and swim places. On Friday, mother nature and her rain forced us to post-pone our beach day at Kiwanis Park in Waterloo. So, on Monday when the sun was shining, off we went! We weren't missing this sunny day.
As soon as we arrived, we lathered the kids up with suncreen and fed them lunch while the sunscreen soaked in. This way, we would be all set for the water once their bellies were full! With their hats, toys, towels and floaties in tow, we headed for clean, clear, cool water.

Between snacks, naps and dips in the pool, the kiddies took turns playing with each other. And then, just when you turn your head for a moment, your daughter stands up on her own for the first time!! ;)

After all the fun and sun, it was approaching nap time for everyone, so reluctantly we all packed up. Good thing our next Splish Splash event is just around the corner! Join us on Friday when we meet again at a FREE local splash pad!

Welcome to the Jungle!

July is our Jungle month and so we headed of to the Brantford Twin Valley Zoo. Even the downpour of rain didnt' stop us! Our first stop was at the Goat petting area. We learned that this baby goat was just born the night before, so cute. The poor little guy wasn't strong enough to lift his head yet.

As we moved along, we saw zebras, all kinds of monkeys and fed some deer.

Then, we strolled along to where the cat family lives. The White Siberian Tiger was beautiful and so was the lazy leopard. Our last stop was the bears since it was starting to rain and kids were getting hungry.

With the raining coming down harder, we headed for shelter which coincidentally was also the Creature Show! Snakes, lizards, tarantula's and fox were some of the animals available for show and pet. I wasn't up for the petting part but the kids sure loved it! Join us when we go to the African Lion Safari in August.
