One of the best parts about being a momstown member are all the amazing contests and promotions you have access to! One of those promotions is that Scholastic donates a book to our Baby Basics program to be given away to one lucky mom and baby!Even as a young baby, literacy is an important learning tool. Research indicates that regular, early-childhood pre-literacy activities in the first three years of life are critical to a child’s success in school and a literate future. (http://www.lsuagcenter.com) So, each week at Baby Basics we start out the event with a story and song to help jump start their love for literacy!
This month, Scholastic donated My First Hockey Book. This fun and easy to read board book helps to introduce action words and concepts that the babies will learn as they grow.
