On Top of Spaghetti with Barilla Plus Pasta with momstown KW Junior Chef's

Every month, momstown KW holds a Jr Chef potluck lunch for all our members. This is by far one of our most popular events...who doesn't love food, right?

Well, this month was extra special because Barilla was our sponsor! Barilla Canada's latest line of pasta, called Barilla PLUS, is a new multigrain pasta that contains protien, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and fibre. Not only does it deliver superior nutritional benefits, but the same great taste you expect from regular pasta, too!

Barilla has so many tastey recipes to choose from, like the Barilla Macaroni Pasta Salad with Cherry Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella and Basil or Barilla Penne all'Arrabbiata

For momstown KW's Barilla sponsored Jr Chef, we chose a simple spaghetti and meatballs recipe.

This easy go to recipe is every mom's secret meal in a minute go to recipe. First, grab your family's favorite pasta sauce and heat on low. Add some chopped peppers, mushrooms, herbs and spices and let simmer. Next, we baked some meatballs in the oven for 20 minutes at 350C. Finally, grab your Barilla PLUS pasta add it to a pot of boiling water and boil for aprox 7-10 minutes.

Mix, stir and combine your Barilla PLUS pasta, sauce and meatballs and TA- DA a delicious and nutricious family spaghetti and meatballs dinner! If you have a little more time, check out this yummy recipe from Barilla!

While the pasta was cooking, we made special bowtie pasta cards for Dad! The kids had so much fun painting the pasta and cards and gluing the pasta into place! Each card was unique and creative!

We also sang On Top of Spaghetti and played "dress the chef" with the fun Barilla Chef hat!

Once our bellies started to grumble, the pasta was ready to be served along our potluck lunch and one lucky family even got to bring home a special Barilla Prize Pack!
