Ever wonder what to do with those empty plastic water and pop bottles?
If you throw them out, they end up in the dump or landfill site. Not so good for the environment right?
If you recycle them, they take up a lot of space in your recycle bin. Still a better option than the trash though.
Well, this week momstown Kitchener-Waterloo used them to amuse our babies!
This is always the best option by far!
While our Baby Basics moms had a great chat about everything mommy and baby,
we used empty water bottles to make Glitter Globes!
These easy to make bottles can keep your baby amused for hours and can be used in so many ways!
First, they can be used for visual stimuli.
Fill the bottle with pom poms, glitter, pipe cleaner, and beads
and your baby will love to watch them float and sink. The colour from the pom poms will even change the colour of the water as the dye settles in. You could even add food colouring if you wanted to!
A fun bonus is to put a flash light under the bottle and light it up!
Second, Glitter Globes can be used to stimulate a baby's touch stimulus.
Whether the bottle is being rolled along a newborns belly or
being gummed by an infants mouth, these bottles are great for external stimuli.
Compliments (from Sobey's grocery stores) bottles are great because of the ridges along the bottle.
It makes it much easier for baby to grab the bottle and adds texture as well!
Always remember to have adult supervision while making the bottles!
The one things babies love more than touching and feeling new things is putting things in their mouths...
(Don't worry, it's yogurt not a pom pom)
As you can see from the pictures everyone had fun creating their own Glitter Globe!
It was a bit of a mess, but the babies loved them!
