Guess what we did at Little Scientists this month?
We separated sand mixed with salt.
Here's how:
- Mix sand and salt together
- Stir the mixture into water
- filter the water through a coffee filter
What you have left with is salty water and sand in the filter
Now, to get the salt back, boil the filtered water until nothing but salt remains!
Pretty cool huh?
