We Screamed I for Ice Cream at our Alphabet Play at Chapters

For a fun Wednesday morning, momstown Kitchener-Waterloo took over Chapters Gateway Park location for our Alphabet Play: Letter I session.  The Chapters staff chose 2 different stories to read us, both related to the letter I:  "I Want my Hat Back" by Jon Klassen and "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" by Laura Numeroff.  Everyone’s favourite letter.... because I stands for ICE CREAM!!  Who doesn’t love ice cream??

We had a lot of fun taking the letter I, decorating it as an ice cream cone, filling it with our favourite colours of “ice cream” paper cutouts and then topping it all off with a pom pom cherry!  Boy did these ice cream cones look delicious... and our fingers even felt just as sticky, as though we had just eaten the biggest ice cream cone ever!  Everyone had to make sure there was enough glue to keep their cherry on top of course! 

Today we were even able to bring some new kids who had been playing in chapters with their family, to join us for our story-time and letter craft activity.  I wonder how many kids were able to convince Mommy that they needed a REAL ice cream cone after this activity?
