momstown KW Dances at Canada's National Ballet School for the Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes Premiere

 

On Sunday February 24th, momstown Kitchener-Waterloo moms and girls all dressed up in pink frillies and headed to Canada's National Ballet School in downtown Toronto.  2 lucky winners from each momstown.ca community (Toronto area) were chosen to join in the fun along with other moms & tots, all for the love of Barbie™ and Ballet.

 

 

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a ballerina mannequin in a beautiful tutu dress, posed beside a super-large display of pink ballet shoes, stacked.  

Instantly, you felt surrounded by ballet pride, delicacy and greatness.  Dancers from the National Ballet were appropriately dressed in their sparkling white tutus and mentoring lots of little aspiring mini ballerina's.  We were offered with tea, pink juice, pink popcorn, pretty pink cookies and special pink ballerina cookies as a souvenir.

A real, life-sized Barbie™ was on hand as well to meet and greet with, and to take those momentous photos with.  Of course, my daughter, afraid of anyone in costume, wasn't comfortable to get anywhere close to Barbie™, so we watched from a safe distance.  Before we knew it, it was time to head the theatre for the premiere screening of the Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes!

 
 
Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes is the latest release which will be available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD on February 26th, 2013. Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes is an exciting ballet movie in which Barbie™ stars as Kristyn, the hard-working dancer, who wows the big ballet company in her performance of Giselle and Swan Lake.  Through this journey Kristyn learns that when you dance from your heart – your dreams can come true.  

Saying that my little ballerina LOVED this movie, is an understatement.  She couldn't wait to get up and twirl her toes off after the movie was finished. Her eyes were lit up with joy and excitement! 

 
 
Barbie™ has introduced a line up of dolls, accessories and a playset which allow girls to recreate some of their favorite scenes from the film. A must have is the Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes as Kristyn Farraday™.  Two in one, girls can simply twist the doll and her skirt reverses for a magical transformation!  You can bet that we will be heading to the store to buy this DVD and of course, the Barbie™ doll as well.  Its a great thing that I loved this movie too, because I know we will be watching it over, and over, and over, with the same sparkle and twirling just as we saw it the very first time.
