Top 10 Oscar Party Ideas

At momstown we are all about celebrating and having fun, especially in the dead of winter!

On February 24th, the 85th Academy Awards will be presented, so why not throw a fun Oscar Party and help to beat those Winter Blah's! Here are momstown KW's top 10 Oscar Party ideas!

1) Play Oscar Games
Download or create your own Oscar Bingo card, ballots and more! Your Bingo cards could include "Red dress" "Won more than 1 Oscar" "Winner mentions Kids", etc. You can even buy fun trophies from the dollar store and give them to the winners at the end of the night!



2) Make gingerbread Oscar cookies

Let everyone at your party take enjoy their very own Oscar Cookie! Just roll out some gingerbread or short bread, cut out "little men" and sprinkle with cinnamon or brown sugar! YUM!


3) Tell all your guests to dress to the nines
Everyone loves to dress up, especially a mom! So tell your guests to take out their heels and put on that backless dress and wear their favorite red lipstick!

4) Create your own Oscar cocktail
You can create tour own signature Oscar cocktail or have fun and print out "Oscar Buzz" labels for the beer, wine or coolers! (Labels can also be purchased at your local dollar store!)

5) Make star-studded popcorn
Head on over to Bulk Barn and grab some kernels, edible sparkles and stars and white chocolate! Pop the kernels, melt the chocolate and add some glitter! YUMMY!

6) Have a Oscar candy bar
Everyone loves candy...so here's just one more reason to have one! Use small black bags with a gold "Oscar" on the front for guests to hold their candy. Then, have fun! Buy gummy bears, junior mints, M&M's and all your theatre favorites!

7) Roll out the red carpet
Make your guests entrance grand with a red carpet! Roll it down your front steps (or inside since we live in Canada, not Hollywood) Welcome your guests with a glass of champagne and of coarse a paparazzi photo!

8) Glam it up

9) The buzz starts with the invitation
Create your own beautiful invitation to send your friends! Not only will they get "good" mail in their mailbox, but they'll be so excited for your party they'll forget how cold it is outside.

10) Have fun and be safe!
With every party there is bound to be alcohol. So be a good host and remind your friends to be safe and have taxi's waiting at the end of the party. Remember, party's are all about having a good time!
