It was a warm and sunny day to be at the park and make some fruit pizzas for Junior Chef.

They are super easy to make too:

  • Add whipped cream to the top of a mini sponge cake
  • Top with your favorite washed and cut  fresh fruit

We used strawberries, blueberries, bananas and watermelon.

X is for Fox at Alphabet Play and momstown KW

Alphabet Play was the program this week at momstown Movers . We learned the letter "X".

We started off by reading a book about a little fox:

And as the theme for June is Shapes, we made a shapes fox!

We took 2 star shapes and placed on top of the other and voila! , the shape of a fox appears!

Just add some eyes and a nose and you have made a shapes fox for the letter "X"

As with every week at momstown Movers, there was times to play and socialize with all our friends.

Today we had a cool tent to hide and laugh in!

And Play Dough too.

Next week we are going swimming! And some sensory play too!

Potato Stamp fun at momstown Movers in Kitchener -Waterloo

Shapes is the theme this month at momstown KW.
So, for Little Scientists we took ordinary potatoes and turned them into paint stamps!

There are easy to do !

1. Cut a large potato in half

2. Push a cookie cutter shape in the flat side

3. Use a paring knife to cut away around the cookie cutter

4. Dip the stamp into paint before pressing to paper.

Moms and tots alike, enjoyed this playful, painting fun.

There were some fantastic masterpieces tot take home too:

At the end of our neat science display there was even more fun to be had with a bucket of toys to share with all our friends.

Join us next week at momstown Movers for our Tales for Tots program where you have a chance to the win the book we read as sponsored by Scholastic Canada!

momstown KW Moms and Tots "Let it Shine" at Tales for Tots.

Once a month at momstown KW ,our momstown Movers program is sponsored by Scholastic Canada.

This month we were given the book " Let It Shine"

A sweet book about summer fun and the coming of autumn.

The book fit well with the monthly creative theme of "deserts".

And so did our craft that followed:

We made sand castles on paper!

After drawing the outline of our castles, we used glue to add fun foam and sparkles

The results was some awesome, blinged-out, art!

We also had social and play time:

Right before this lucky winner took home the book we read:

Thanks again Scholastic Canada!

Kitchener-Waterloo Toddlers & Preschoolers Celebrate the Letter U at momstown Movers Program

Today at momstown Movers, our toddlers and preschoolers celebrated the letter U.  We started with circle time including the alphabet song and nursery rhymes.

Then we gathered at the tables to make an umbrella picture!

We used small paper plates cut in half and shaped like umbrella hoods. Then we added a colourful pipe cleaner handle before we all decorated the umbrellas to make them special!

Adding the words "U is for UMBRELLA" on the bottom helped us recognized the letter U and associate it with the word umbrella.

Of course, there was some awsome play time at the end to let our glue dry and get our wiggles out.

It was so much fun we can't wait to see what's in store for the letter V next month!

The Tumblebus visits Kitchener-Waterloo Toddlers at momstown Movers!

What a fun day of tumble and play!

The Tumblebus paid momstown KW a visit  this week.

They were a part of the guest speaker portion of momstowm Movers.

momstown Movers includes a Picasso's, a  Little Scientists and 2 guest speakers to make every Wednesday of the month, fun for moms and tots .

The program is designed for moms with toddlers and preschoolers aged 15 months to age 4, looking to connect with other moms toddlers and preschoolers. This is also a great weekly program for moms with multiple children to let  their  little Movers play together while moms connect.

Here is a look at the fantastic experience Tumblebus brought us:

A big and hearty thanks to the pleasant staff at Tumblebus for letting us play and enjoy the snowy day on your warm bus!
