Metro Ontario Helps Moms with Back to School Lunches at Junior Chef!

It's Back to School time and you know what that means, the dreaded task of every mom, "The Lunch".   Whether "The Lunch" is made before bedtime or first thing in the morning, there are still so many pieces and items to work out.  A main course (sandwich, wrap, sushi roll), then fruit, vegetables, a drink, and of course a treat or snack right?

Well, help came for momstown Kitchener-Waterloo moms this week, from Metro Grocery Stores!  Metro Ontario was our sponsor for our monthly Junior Chef for September, which was perfect timing.  Metro has some fabulous prices on national brands this fall - which is perfect for all your back to school lunch making.  We shopped mostly from the "Do the Math" section of their flyer, which gave us great deals on some great lunch products, and our moms loved them all.  And know what else they loved - the Reusable shopping bag and $10 Gift Card from Metro!

To assemble our lunches, we used:

• Quaker Granola Bars
• Kashi Pita Crisps
• Minute Maid Drinking Boxes 
• Selection Cheese Sticks & Corn Chips
• Irrestibles Cheese Strings
• Kraft Shredded Cheese
• Selection Whole Wheat Wraps
• Carrots, Celery, Strawberries, Grapes
• and of course, Brown Bags!

The kids loved decorating their own lunch bags and then filling it with all their own chosen favourites for their lunch.  They chose their own veggies and fruit, make their own wraps, picked their own snack, packed a drink and finally, grabbed a treat to top it off.

  The great part was that the kids couldn't even wait til they got home to enjoy it, they pulled up a seat right away with their moms, and started eating their homemade lunch! It almost felt like the school cafeteria already, they were eating and making friends with each other :)   The Kitchener Market was the perfect place for the kids to assemble, socialize and play too.
